Oregon Data Privacy Laws: OCPA Consumer Rights Guide (2026)

Updates

Corrected the sensitive-data uniqueness claim (Delaware also lists transgender or nonbinary status), reattributed four OCPA duties from HB 2008 to SB 619, replaced the 15-day universal opt-out deadline with the statutory 45 days, removed an unsupported January 1, 2027 effective date for SB 1546, and restated the $7,500 penalty as per violation rather than per affected consumer.

Corrected the state-comparison table (Virginia's VCDPA has no dollar revenue threshold, unlike Oregon's table previously stated) and fixed two DOJ enforcement-report citations that had attributed real statistics to the wrong one of Oregon DOJ's periodic reports.

Independently fact-checked against the cited primary sources; governing law re-checked for recent changes
