¿Cuál es el salario mínimo de Idaho?
El Idaho Code 44-1502(1) dispone que ningún empleador pagará a un empleado menos de $7.25 por hora, y agrega que la cantidad "shall conform to, and track with, the federal minimum wage" (debe ajustarse y seguir el salario mínimo federal). Trabajadores que reciben propinas en Idaho
Idaho permite un crédito por propinas (tip credit), pero su piso para el salario en efectivo (cash wage) es más alto que los $2.13 federales. Según el Idaho Code 44-1502(2), el salario directo de un empleado que recibe propinas no puede ser menor de $3.35 por hora. Si el salario directo más las propinas no alcanza el salario mínimo, el empleador debe pagar la diferencia.

Tarifas más bajas para trabajadores jóvenes y exclusiones
Un empleador de Idaho puede pagar a un empleado menor de 20 años no menos de $4.25 por hora durante los primeros 90 días calendario consecutivos de su empleo inicial, y no puede desplazar a otros empleados para contratar con ese salario (Idaho Code 44-1502(3)). ¿Pueden las ciudades de Idaho fijar un salario mínimo más alto?
No. El Idaho Code 44-1502(4) establece que ninguna subdivisión política, según la definición de la sección 6-902, establecerá mediante ordenanza u otra acción salarios mínimos más altos que el mínimo estatal. Cómo encaja el salario mínimo federal

La Sección de Salarios y Horas (Wage and Hour Section) del Departamento de Trabajo de Idaho hace cumplir las leyes de salario mínimo y de pago de salarios de Idaho, que son el Título 44, Capítulo 15 y el Título 45, Capítulo 6. Any person who willfully violates any of the provisions of section 215 of this title shall upon conviction thereof be subject to a fine of not more than $10,000, or to imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. No person shall be imprisoned under this subsection except for an offense committed after the conviction of such person for a prior offense under this subsection. No provision of this chapter or of any order thereunder shall excuse noncompliance with any Federal or State law or municipal ordinance establishing a minimum wage higher than the minimum wage established under this chapter or a maximum work week lower than the maximum workweek established under this chapter, and no provision of this chapter relating to the employment of child labor shall justify noncompliance with any Federal or State law or municipal ordinance establishing a higher standard than the standard established under this chapter. Any action commenced on or after May 14, 1947, to enforce any cause of action for unpaid minimum wages, unpaid overtime compensation, or liquidated damages, under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, as amended [29 U.S.C. 201 et seq.], the Walsh-Healey Act, or the Bacon-Davis Act 1 See References in Text note below. — if the cause of action accrues on or after May 14, 1947 —may be commenced within two years after the cause of action accrued, and every such action shall be forever barred unless commenced within two years after the cause of action accrued, except that a cause of action arising out of a willful violation may be commenced within three years after the cause of action accrued; if the cause of action accrued prior to May 14, 1947 —may be commenced within whichever of the following periods is the shorter: (1) two years after the cause of action accrued, or (2) the period prescribed by the applicable State statute of limitations; and, except as provided in paragraph (c), every such action shall be forever barred unless commenced within the shorter of such two periods; if the cause of action accrued prior to May 14, 1947, the action shall not be barred by paragraph (b)…
