Statutory Holidays in Canada: Federal and Provincial Rules by Jurisdiction

Updates

Corrected the Nova Scotia vacation summary: under the Labour Standards Code both the 6% rate and the third week apply after more than eight years.

Corrected Nova Scotia vacation pay: the Labour Standards Code sets both the third week and 6 percent vacation pay at more than eight years of employment (the province's guidance describes 6 percent starting earlier), and added Saskatchewan's industry-specific public holiday pay rules under its 2025 regulations.
