The Safest Browser: How to Browse and Download Anonymously

Updates

Reviewed and refreshed. Fixed nine broken markdown links left over from the WordPress migration, rewrote squished bullet lists that had lost their line breaks, swapped the AdBlock Plus recommendation for uBlock Origin (AdBlock Plus runs a paid Acceptable Ads program; uBlock Origin has no such arrangement, though Chrome now requires the lighter uBlock Origin Lite under Manifest V3), updated the Google data-retention detail from an approximate two years to the current 18-month default auto-delete window, moved the Tails link to its current tails.net domain, corrected an outdated reference to Internet Explorer as one of the major browsers, and added current Tor Browser security-level detail.
